PATRICK LEAVY

Patrick Leavy is a Miami-based bassist and educator. Growing up in New York, he has participated in programs such as Manhattan School of Music Precollege and The New York Youth Symphony, where he was able to develop his bass playing early on. During this time he also studied with some of NYCs greater teachers, giving him a deep understanding of the bass tradition. In 2018, Patrick left NY to attend the Frost School of Music at University of Miami. He graduated in 2022 with his bachelor’s in jazz performance and in 2024 he finished his master’s in jazz pedagogy as a teaching assistant for Dr. Charles Bergeron. Currently he is on Faculty at the Miami-Dade College Wolfson Campus. In addition to releasing two albums as a leader, Patrick has recorded and performed as a sideman for many prominent figures in the world of jazz. Using his voice as a bass player to be both a sideman, leader, and educator, Patrick looks forward to a bright future in music.
